Educational Talent Search (ETS)

ETS is an academic enrichment program with three main objectives that the grant intends to achieve:

• Identify and assist students from disadvantaged backgrounds with the opportunity to pursue a higher education
• Provide academic assistance, career exploration, and financial counseling to these students as they prepare to enter a post secondary opportunity
• Assist individuals who have been academically dismissed to reenter educational system, either in high school or by attending an institution of higher education

Services include:

• Participants drafting individualized learning plans
• Career exploration and learning assessment
• Tutorial services
• Information on postsecondary education
• Exposure to college campuses
• Information on student financial assistance
• Assistance in completing college admissions and financial aid applications
• Assistance in preparing for college entrance exams
• Mentoring programs
• Special activities for sixth, seventh, and eighth graders
• Workshops for the families of participants
